Practice Facilities

With more than an acre of zoysia teeing area, Persimmon Woods golfers can be assured of prepping for their round or working on your swing under ideal turf conditions.

Persimmon Woods' practice area, located conveniently just off the first tee, can accommodate more than 30 golfers at a time. Additionally, the club offers a second practice tee -- located at the far end of the 300-plus yard range, played in reverse.

The short-game area, also located at the back end of the range, features a target green, a greenside and fairway bunker and measures 100 yards to help golfers work on those scoring shots capable of producing lower scores. This fall, the club began plans to expand the back range, nearly doubling the size of the teeing area and adding a second putting green. This allows members to hit full shots into one green, practice bunker shots of varying lengths. The second green will be constructed to USGA specs and will be conditioned to course conditions for practice putting and greenside chipping from a variety of lies and grass surfaces.

At Persimmon Woods, the range is stocked with new Callaway golf balls, sure to provide a true read on your distance and ball flight. As a means of assisting golfers know exactly how far they are hitting shots, the range is lasered each day to targets. This attention to detail helps Persimmon Woods members maximize their practice time.

The PGA professionals at Persimmon Woods - including Director of Golf Benjiman Kent, Head Professional Jeff Escott and Assistant Professional Charlie Stock - are available to conduct private lessons or clinics on the range as well as club-fittings.

Each year, Persimmon Woods hosts all of the major manufacturers for Demo Days so that Members can be made aware of the latest innovations in club and ball technology.
